My client based in East Killbride is looking for a Rotating Equipment Engineer (Electrical C&I)
Objectives:
• Provide a comprehensive range of technical support activities associated with the operation,
maintenance and repair of high-speed rotating equipment.
• Assist in the specification of rotating equipment and ancillary equipment.
• Provide specialist support and guidance on all aspects of rotating equipment particularly
associated with repair, troubleshooting and overhauls, including electrical and
instrumentation.
• Support test department on product performance testing, including compilation of test
instructions, test reports and customer liaison.
• Participate in design reviews, progress meetings associated with the development of new
designs, up-grade and re-rates.
• Conduct and facilitate the provision of RCA’s (Root Cause Analysis) on failure mechanisms
relating to in-service equipment operation and associated equipment.
• Conduct site surveys/analysis of plant operation with a view to increasing reliability.
• Assist in providing technical support during workshop activities regarding the dismantling
and re-building of overhauled rotating equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to sales and contracts in the pursuit of new business
opportunities within developing markets of rotating plant maintenance.
• Provide general technical support to complete business as part of the Engineering team.

• Conduct all work with consideration of environmental, health and safety policies and
targets.
• Where necessary, after due assessment of risk, employ appropriate controls to minimise
risk to personnel, plant and premises.
• Highest EHS & Quality standards coupled with customer satisfaction levels.
• Conduct work to quality and commercial procedures such that risk to quality and financial
exposure is contained within Company guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience
• Engineering qualification ideally minimum Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with
relevant experience in a technical support role.
• Strong technical knowledge with emphasis on electrical, instrumentation and General Pump
System Engineering.
• Ability to effectively manage own daily workload with minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
Product Knowledge:
• Specialised knowledge of electrical, instrumentation on centrifugal pumps and motors.
• Good knowledge of Design and Manufacturing Techniques associated with small, medium
and large rotating equipment, particularly centrifugal pumps, and induction motors.
• Excellent knowledge of International Standards associated with small, medium and large
rotating equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand Component Manufacturing Drawings, Technical
Specifications, and International Standards.
• Extensive knowledge of repair and overhaul techniques.
Reasoning Ability:
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities. Self-motivated. Able to work on own initiative.
• Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions
and take appropriate decisions.
