My client is seeking an experienced and qualified Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR team and provide guidance and support on various HR matters. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering a full range of human resource services, such as advising managers and employees on counselling, benefits, and other services and programs available to them, overseeing employee orientation and training, investigating workplace situations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
To be successful as an Employee Relations Specialist, you should have a degree in human resources or a relevant field, as well as CIPD qualifications or equivalent. You should also have excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You should be able to advise and work with senior members of staff, as well as handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
This role is an FTC until March 2024 and on a Hybrid basis
Employee Relations Specialist Responsibilities:
- Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
- Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures
- Advising managers and employees on counseling, benefits, and other services and programs available to them
- Organizing and updating employee files
- Overseeing employee orientation and training
- Providing information to employees on employment laws and regulations
- Investigating workplace situations and resolving disputes
- Participating in recruitment and dismissal processes
- Performing employee background checks and verifying information
- Representing the company at job fairs and college campuses
- Developing and implementing an employee relations program
- Ensuring fair and balanced input into company strategy
Employee Relations Specialist Requirements:
- A degree in human resources or a related field
- CIPD qualifications or equivalent
- Proven work experience as an Employee Relations Specialist or similar role
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- IT skills and familiarity with HR systems
