We seek an experienced ESG Research & Integration Director to join the ESG Research & Integration team at HSBC Asset Management. This team plays a crucial role in incorporating Responsible Investment (RI) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) factors throughout the investment platform. Reporting to and collaborating with the Global Head of ESG Research & Integration this senior level role will be responsible for leading ESG Research & Integration in various key areas, focusing on sector-specific research, evaluating issuer-specific ESG frameworks and perspectives, conducting climate research, and analysing fixed income issuance, including labelled bonds.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and support investment teams – Equities, Fixed Income, Multi Asset - with ESG Research & Integration for ESG/Sustainable Investments to improve processes through automation for enhanced reliability.
  • Develop and improve Materiality and scoring frameworks to create a unique and advanced ESG rating solution.
  • Offer methodological support to ensure company compliance with regulations and frameworks such as SFDR, SDR, TCFD.
  • Collaborate with RI Product specialists to provide technical support for data selection and process design to meet clients' ESG requirements.
  • Understand and convey competitive positioning and act as the subject matter expert in RI/Sustainability topics

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in ESG issues pertaining to asset management and asset owners are crucial for this position.
  • Proven proficiency with ESG data and its associated research processes is essential.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills, with the ability to evaluate and interpret information, are essential. Some familiarity with quantitative data management would be beneficial.
  • The ability to oversee a small team, coaching and mentoring skills are required.
  • Effective presentation, oral and written communication skills are vital. The role requires a well-organized seasoned professional who is capable of scheduling workloads amidst shifting priorities.

This is a hybrid working role with the base location as London. The successful candidate must have the ability to commute to this location.
