ESOL Tutor

The social mixing ESOL tutor will support deliver a tried and tested successful model to engage with the community to develop language skills and knowledge.
The programme provides residents 30 hours of ESOL delivery along with the opportunity to attend social mixing activities in a face to face setting to boost confidence, tackle social isolation and increase social interaction. As a social mixing ESOL tutor, you will seek to empower learners to strengthen their English language skills through having opportunities to interact with different people in various social mixing activities. Alongside you will deliver a 30 hour non-accredited ESOL programme to pre-entry learners.
You will support with the set-up of the programme each term and then provide an opportunity for others to join the social mixing programme who would benefit from more social interaction and English language practice, thus enhancing their English language skills, building connections and reducing social isolation.
A key element of the role will also include ensuring we have accurate data on the programme to measure our impact. This includes uploading data, reporting to the funder. Based in the North East locality of the Tower Hamlets borough, you will be expected to deliver sessions in outreach venues. The role is broadly broken up into 6 hours of direct delivery, 4 hours of preparation time, 2 hours of admin per week.
