Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious professional, to join us as our new Estate Caretaker. Key to the role is cleaning and maintaining communal properties and gardens at our Swarcliffe Estate. It also involves carrying out basic health and safety compliance checks and minor repairs.

Your Role 

Within the role you will carry out routine patrols and inspections across the Swarcliffe estate and test facilities such as emergency lights. You will also be emptying void properties as well as carrying out ground's maintenance work. This exciting role also involves cleaning and regular heavy lifting, whilst also undertaking a range of minor repairs to communal properties, gardens and wider estate. 

Helping and supporting the team is essential to this post. This will ensure all areas reach the required standards particularly around scheduled inspections. You will also act as a contact for tenants to provide a source of basic advice and assistance for customers. 

Being friendly and approachable you will form excellent relationships with our colleagues and partners to ensure any issues are resolved effectively. Using your autonomy, you will spend time on your own within the role so managing your own workload is also key.

So, what do we need from you? 

The answer is simple - if you are hardworking, driven and hungry for your next challenge then we would love to hear from you! 

The below would also be great;   

  • Recognised qualification in Caretaking and Estates/Facilities management, building or related trade 
  • Experience working with people within a housing, caretaking, building or estates/ facilities management and  experience in a similar role is preferred 
  • Good practical skills carrying out repairs and cleaning 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer care skills 
  • Able to work as part of a team, willingness to work flexibly and on your own initiative. High level of drive, conscientious and to be self-motivated and willing to cover for team members. 
  • Confident driver and ability to drive various size commercial vehicles and have a current driving license.
