Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse project specifications and requirements to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for steel frame construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential information for estimating purposes.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to assess project scope.
- Utilise industry knowledge to recommend cost-saving measures and value engineering options.
- Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost breakdowns, including materials, labour, and overhead costs.
- Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and industry benchmarks to ensure competitive and up-to-date estimates.
- Work closely with the project team to refine estimates during the bid process.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on steel frame projects.
- Solid understanding of steel frame construction methods and materials.
- Proficient in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with estimating software/tools is an advantage.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field.
