Are you a meticulous and experienced Estimator looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Structural Steel fabrication & erection company in Halifax? My client is seeking a highly skilled individual to join their team and play a crucial role in estimating and pricing projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation and Costing:

• Analyse project drawings and specifications to accurately estimate the cost of materials, labour, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.

Bid Preparation:

• Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for steel erection projects.
• Ensure that bids are submitted in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

• Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing for materials and services.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms.

Risk Assessment:

• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure accurate project costing.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, to gather information and insights for accurate estimations.
• Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and address inquiries.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or steel erection industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry trends.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficient in using estimation software and tools.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
