European Regional Lead - Energy

This role requires someone that has progressed within underwriting over that can continue to develop and execute a European strategy, that works alongside the global strategy for energy lines of business. The role consists of managing a large portfolio (€150m+) and underwriters across European hubs. The role will have direct reports and manage a cost-centre within the business plan whilst also providing technical guidance to underwriters when required. The book of business is predominantly composed of upstream energy and construction, offshore wind and offshore construction and conventional and green operational power. Suitable candidates will need to bring significant experience in an Underwriting management position within energy lines. This will include an understanding of regional / local energy insurance markets, competitor landscapes and legal and regulatory frameworks. Fluent English is essential and French and/or German is advantageous and it is likely that Paris or Germany would be the permanent location for the role.
