'In the Footsteps of St Felix', St Andrew's Church Soham
Saturday 6 July 2024, 11.00am - 4.00pm
St Andrew's Church Soham, Fountain Lane, Soham, CB7 5ED
Background
The grade-1 listed church of St Andrew's Soham will shortly complete a £350,000 capital project, 'In the Footsteps of St Felix'. Funded in the main by the National Heritage Lottery Fund (NLHF), the building works have been accompanied by a varied Activity Plan which has explored the early history of the church and its connections to St Felix's foundation of an Abbey in Soham in AD 631.
As is usual with NLHF projects of this size, an external evaluator has designed an evaluation strategy to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the project and to measure its success against its agreed outputs and outcomes.
The event
On Saturday 6 July 2024 the church will host its final public event, a Medieval Fair in the church and churchyard. The Fair will host a wide range of historical providers, from Living History to Storytelling, Archaeology to Archery, and a large community craft fair. Public engagement at the event is expected to be high.
