The Opportunity:

As we continue to grow and transform DC Thomson Events, creating career development opportunities is a key priority for us. An exciting opportunity exists within our events team, working at a high level selling event sponsorship across our extensive events portfolio. Seen as a media expert within our business both internally and externally, working in collaboration with the wider commercial team selling multimedia solutions. The key objective being to maintain, grow and source new revenue. This is a full-time hybrid flexible role offering a blend of home and office working from our Aberdeen office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with clients, senior managers, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with commercial team to explore all opportunities
  • To attend multimedia sales training throughout the year to ensure sales skills, products & industry knowledge is current and relevant
  • Manage your diary to optimum efficiency levels
  • Meet and exceed set expectations & KPI’s set out by manager
  • To manage and grow an existing client base as well as developing new business
  • To work closely with the event delivery managers to ensure event partnerships objectives are met
  • Provide accurate sales and financial reporting
  • Ensure all sales and revenue processes are maintained and implemented effectively
  • To maximise the use of Gemstone CMS system to track opportunities, revenue pipeline & accurate client reporting
  • Attend networking events, conferences, and exhibitions
  • Share leads & opportunities with colleagues to ensure all business opportunities are being covered
  • To achieve & exceed set revenue targets
  • Identify new opportunities in events and our wider portfolio


Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in b2b sales
  • Self driven and highly motivated
  • Exceptional communication skills and presentation skills
  • Established network of industry contacts
  • Ability to network at a high level
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen
  • Team player
  • Determination to succeed
  • Resilience
  • Full UK Driving License essential
  • Flexibility – as the nature of events means there will be some evening and weekend working

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week from our Aberdeen offices. The role presents the opportunity of hybrid working, with a blend of home and office working.
