Job description

Harris Hill is working with a music based charity in Hertfordshire, supporting their search for an interim Events and Sales Coordinator, which is covering a permanent recruitment period.
Duties:
To maximise and contribute to the charity’s income targets for bed and breakfast and venue hire
Provide strategic and operational support to the Development, and Music and Operations teams whilst ensuring exceptional customer service
To work with the Head of Development, Head of Music and the Director of Operations on developing a strategy that delivers sales and promotes bed and breakfast and venue hire.
To support the Head of Development in the creation and management of marketing and brand assets that support the sales process
Oversee and attend all venue hire events, presenting welcome/farewell speeches on rotation, scheduling meetings, taking notes, and providing appropriate follow‐up
Ensure all venue hire paperwork is completed by clients in a timely manner and filed and shared with appropriate teams
Work with colleagues to develop and monitor timelines/deadlines related to all aspects of events, ensuring the information is communicated clearly and efficiently
Manage and work with appropriate staff to evaluate all events, ensuring continual improvement and quality customer service, gathering and disseminating feedback as necessary
Provide follow‐up to Events and bed and breakfast stays, such as thank‐you emails, and respond to guest feedback promptly via TripAdvisor, Booking website and other online booking agents, referring to colleagues as appropriate
Support Front Desk Administrators and other colleagues by taking client bookings and payments over the telephone or in person for courses, concerts, shop purchases, bar tabs and membership subscriptions, following petty cash and PDQ procedures
Support Front Desk Administrators by booking rehearsal rooms and bed and breakfast accommodation for guests and processing paperwork and payments
Experience:
Experience and understanding of Events and Sales
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
A keen interest in people, a good sense of humour, the confidence to interact with others from a range of backgrounds and ages and the willingness to work successfully as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail
An ability to creatively problem-solve, a positive can-do attitude and a desire to ensure the best possible visitor experience
A passion for delivering a high standard of customer care and an unwavering commitment to ensuring equality of service to all
Strong negotiating and influencing skills, and the ability to secure sales
The ability to work on your own, take initiative, multitask and remain calm under pressure
A professional attitude and appearance and the ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Strong IT awareness and computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Excel, Access and Word) and booking management databases and systems knowledge
A willingness to undertake First Aid training and safeguarding training
This role is office based due to the nature of the work and organisation. Their office is based in Hitchin, so you will need to be commutable to this location
