Job description

We are looking for an Exam Access Assessor / Lecturer – someone to assess learners who have a wide range of inclusive needs, ensuring learners are offered the maximum opportunity to meet their full potential. A recognised Level 7 Specific Learning Difficulties qualification is a pre-requisite for this role.

Demonstrating inspirational teaching, learning and assessment practice, you will provide a rich and stretching learning experience for learners and initiate improvements in learner recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression. This may include whole group, small group and 1:1 teaching. Demonstrating understanding, knowledge and offering guidance and support around key additional needs such as autism and dyslexia, you will work in partnership with the curriculum areas to plan a path for each learner along with specific targets which will guide and enable the young person to succeed and progress.

We’re looking for someone who has a successful recent record of assessing learners with a wide range of specific learning difficulties and who has experience of devising and implementing programmes of specific learning difficulty support for learners on a wide range of courses and levels. Able to communicate effectively at all levels, you will be able to contribute to EHCP’s and justifying high needs support funding to Local Authorities and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

A recognised Level 7 specific learning difficulties qualification for teaching and assessing for Exam Access arrangements is essential, as is a good working knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, especially of the EHCP process.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 29th March 2024

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days plus up to 7 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
