Job description

Assessment Delivery Administrator

Do you work well in a team, have experience of people facing roles or have a passion for customer service? If so, you might be the perfect candidate to join our Assessment Delivery Team!

We’re looking for people who want to work in a rewarding and challenging environment. In this role, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety working with doctors and health professionals to make a positive impact protecting patients.

In the Assessment Delivery Team, we run in person exams in our purpose-built Clinical Assessment Centres in Spinningfields, Manchester. As Exam and Event Support Officer, also known as Assessment Delivery Administrator, you’ll be involved in:

  • The planning and delivery of medical exams
  • You’ll regularly attend GMC offices to carry out this role, including some Saturdays.
  • You will be involved in the administrative preparation of test materials
  • Setting up equipment and providing technical support during exams
  • Working alongside role players and doctors
  • Supporting those taking the assessments on the day and answering queries

Have a read of the Job Specification which outlines in full the tasks you will undertake, and the essential skills required for the role, as well as the ‘Week in the life of an Assessment Administrator to get a real sense of what you can expect in the role.

What are we looking for?

A confident communicator with good organisation skills who can build strong relationships with people face-to-face, and by phone and email. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll need to be proactive and have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.

The Recruitment process and how to apply

Please provide a CV and covering letter. The covering letter should clearly set out how you meet the essential skills for the role, which are listed in the job description. You should also include a paragraph outlining your reasons for applying for the role.

We recommend no more than 2 sides of A4 for the covering letter, but it can be more if required.

We will assess the information you provide against the skills required for the role and let you know whether you will progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.

If you do not provide all the above, we will not be able to progress your application and your application could be withdrawn.

To assist you with your application we will also be holding a virtual drop in session on Thursday 8th February at 12pm for up to an hour, where you can join us for more insights on the clinical assessment centre and advise on how to apply.

If successful following your application you will be invited to an in-person group discussion and written assessment, this will take place at our offices in Spinningfields Manchester on 19th February 2024.

If successful at the group discussion stage you will then be invited to a virtual interview via MS Teams with interviews taking place between 29th February - 6th March 2024.
