Creative Support is a national organisation with charitable status, and a Registered Social Landlord. We provide person-centred care, support, and housing to people across England with a wide range of needs. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Executive Assistant to provide essential administrative and secretarial assistance to our Board of Trustees. As the Executive Assistant to our Board of Trustees, you’ll be at the heart of our governance structure in a role with considerable responsibility. Working closely with the Chair and the trustees, as well as the Company Secretary, you will facilitative executive decision making by providing essential administrative and secretarial assistance. In your dynamic and varied workload, you will be required to:

  • Liaise with Chair and trustees to plan and schedule meetings.
  • Manage communications and correspondence for Chair and trustees.
  • Organize meetings, including sending invites and virtual log-ins, and handle room bookings, refreshments, travel arrangements, and expenses.
  • Arrange meetings among Chair, trustees, CEO, and other officers as needed.
  • Coordinate agenda for Board Meetings with Chair and arrange presentations and speakers.
  • Collaborate with Executive Team on meeting preparation and follow-up.
  • Take accurate minutes during Board meetings and distribute them along with reports and papers.
  • Maintain attendance records, handle apologies, and manage conflicts of interest.
  • Keep records organized and manage the online Board portal.
  • Organize Annual General Meeting and other events in collaboration with Company Secretary.
  • Assist in recruiting and inducting new trustees.
  • Serve as a point of contact for trustees and shareholders.
  • Support Company Secretary in their duties.
  • Fulfil any other tasks requested by Chair, CEO, and Company Secretary.

The successful candidate will have:


  • Prior experience in a responsible secretarial or administrative role, preferably in the charity, social care, or public service sector.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to proactively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in IT and online applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good standard of literacy and attention to detail in managing data and records.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective liaison and coordination with others.
  • Responsiveness to requests from the Chair and trustees, with flexibility to work evenings as needed.

Please note, this role is available on a full time (37.5 hours p/w) or part time (22.5 hours p/w) basis, however availability to attend frequent evening meetings is essential.


This post is not suitable for home working. Our offices are readily accessible on public transport as we are based in in the centre of Stockport close to the mainline train station and with frequent buses to Manchester.
