Are you passionate about supporting people out of homelessness?
HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity. On average we help around 1,000 local people every year to overcome or avoid homelessness. In addition to providing essential short-term emergency accommodation, food, clothing and washing facilities, we work to identify the root causes of homelessness, creating tailored support for each person’s circumstances. We achieve success by providing structure, purpose and training opportunities, and also by providing longer-term supported housing, empowering people to take steps to leave homelessness behind and ultimately live independently in the community.
The organisation has undergone significant change over the past twelve months, we are moving into an ambitious time bringing together operations with a refreshed focus on delivering a creative solution that enables those we support to really transform their lives. We are striving for excellence across the services we offer by investing into our practices, people, property and place.
We are looking for someone with a strong background of delivering and developing creative and impactful services for rough sleepers and others at risk of homelessness with complex needs. Someone who is motivated by the challenges of change and someone with the energy and enthusiasm to lead and support others in working with a cohort that may be harder to reach to achieve sustainable outcomes.
You should have experience of developing and maintaining relationships with councils, other statutory services and community partners to deliver positive outcomes for the client group. You will be the organisations expert on safeguarding and should be conversant with supporting others and managing risks which might fall into safeguarding or sit just outside it. You will be flexible, adaptable and confident in adapting services to respond to shifting priorities and evolving external environments.
