Orthopaedic Medical Secretary
Location: Mount Stuart Hospital, Torquay
Hours: 16 Hours over 2 days (Thursday and Friday), Part-time
Salary: Depending and experience + Benefits

Your main task will be supporting our consultants with fast and precise typing and record creation which is so important to the smooth running of patient management. You will be expected to multi-task across a range of secretarial duties; offer good judgement in escalating issues, prioritising jobs, highly accurate digital typing, as these tasks all play an important part of your role. You’ll be valued for your skills and expertise and have the chance to build on them through our Ramsay Academy, too.
What you will bring with you
Excellent IT skills and ability to type at speed whilst maintaining accuracy
Digital typing experience – desirable not essential
Experience of multi-tasking and working to strict deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication
High attention to detail
Background knowledge or experience with orthopaedic medical terminology

Mount Stuart Hospital is based in Torquay, part of the English Riviera with easy access to beaches and Dartmoor. The hospital has undergone a major expansion project in recent years, including a new third theatre. Our specialities include orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology & general, spinal and plastic surgery. We pride ourselves on delivering a caring service, taking pride in our achievements and actively seeking new ways of doing things better for all our patients.
