Job description

The Falkland Islands Government Health & Social Services Department is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team based in Stanley, the Falkland Islands capital.

This post requires an Occupational Therapist with experience of rehabilitation and supporting independence for older people and vulnerable adults. Working with the multidisciplinary adults' team, the OT will assess and agree care plans to support members of the community to maximise their independence and overcome challenges to daily living.

You will be working in a supportive and friendly team which takes great pride in providing excellent clinical care. You will find a varied and interesting role here, and an opportunity to make a real difference and provide excellent care for patients.

We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist who has a Degree in Occupational Therapy, and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, (HCPC) or equivalent.

The Package

  • Fixed Term Contract, of up to 4 years.
  • Starting Salary GBP39,944 up to GBP46,057 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity (taxable).
  • 41 days paid leave, 30 days paid annual leave plus 11 government and public holidays.
  • Relocation Allowance, to help with moving costs.
  • Flights Package for you and any recognised dependants residing with you at post both at the beginning and end of contract, along with additional annual return flights contingent on the duration of the contract.
  • Government Housing for rent and a starter pack to help you settle in.
