Job Description:
Empowering Learning is seeking an experienced and energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a primary SEN school in Southwark. This is a full-time, long-term role where you will provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex needs, ensuring their educational and emotional development.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist with personal care needs, maintaining the child's dignity and promoting independence.
- Use creativity and enthusiasm to engage the child in learning activities.
- Support the child in developing social skills and managing behaviour.
- Employ strategies to manage and support children with autism, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience working with children with autism in a UK-based school setting.
- Personal Care: Ability to provide personal care and support to children with complex needs.
- DBS Check: Enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service is essential.
- Skills: Must be energetic, creative, and able to engage children effectively.
- Training: Team Teach training is an advantage.
