Job description

Major recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for a well known professional business to join their Export Sales Administration team. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of international trade regulations. The role is fully office based. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and a 2.30pm finish every Friday.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Export sales administration: Process and manage export quotations and orders (including some key accounts) ensuring a high level of accuracy, assisting customers with queries and supporting the external sales team when required.
  • Ensure compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to import and export regulations, including customs laws, trade agreements, and licensing requirements (including US regulations).
  • Documentation management: Prepare and review export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assisting the purchasing team with checking import documentation for accuracy when required.
  • Coordinate shipments: Collaborate with freight forwarders and logistics providers to arrange transportation, track shipments, and manage customs clearance processes.
  • Customs clearance: Liaise with customs authorities to ensure smooth clearance of imported and exported goods, resolve any issues that arise, and handle customs audits.

Candidates welcome to apply must have the following:

  • Proven experience in import and export operations, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade practices.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, tariff classification, customs valuation methodologies, origin rules and preference statements.
  • Problem-solving skills to address issues related to customs clearances, shipping delays, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Experience in working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party logistics providers.
  • Knowledge of export licences and processing licence applications an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR regulations an advantage.
