10 April 2024 At Asda, we are on an accelerated growth journey to transform our business and we have an exciting
opportunity for Convenience Channel Managers to join our Food team.
Our dedicated Convenience division is a large part of our ambitious transformation and growth plans
over the next 3 years and we’ve recently made some exciting acquisitions in this space. We are close
to finalising the conversions of nearly 500 convenience stores to Asda Express but we’re still only at
the start of our journey!
This is a great time to join the Convenience team and your role will be crucial in refining and
optimising the commercial proposition covering Range, Price, Promotion and other strategic
initiatives.
As one of six Convenience Channel Managers you will:
- Align to a Business Unit(s) to be the Convenience champion to develop a winning commercial proposition
- Sit within the Business Units in order to embed yourself as a key stakeholder within their team
- Work alongside the dedicated Convenience team including Supply, Merchandising, Finance and Operations to help deliver
- You will be the key link between the over-arching Convenience channel objectives and the needs of your Business Unit(s) objectives
- Work with key colleagues in your Business Unit to:
- Deliver the right range in the right stores
- Optimise availability
- Ensure Convenience prices are to the agreed framework
- Offer a compelling and profitable promotional plan
- Help develop and optimise ways of working within the team
- Champion convenience with the supply base
- Help unlock an omni-channel approach to the Customer proposition so the customer journey is seamless across our different channels
- Interpret market data and make sustainable financial decisions to support performance improvement
- Be accountable for recommendations to improve the Convenience P&L (e.g. Range
recommendations, Convenience specific promotions, case size optimisation)
- Work cross-functionally to deliver your Business Unit strategy within the Convenience channel
- Help deliver the synergy/harmonisation benefits
- Contribute to the wider community of best practice across the other Convenience Channel Managers
- Build and upskill others on the Convenience channel
- Increase productivity in the business unit through consistent processes and ways-of-working
