We are looking for a versatile Music & Art and Drama Technician who has a passion for both music and the arts. The ideal candidate will have experience in violin tuning and a keen interest in supporting the creative departments of a bustling secondary school environment.
Day-to-day of the role:- Maintain and organise musical instruments, particularly string instruments, ensuring they are in good working order and tuned to performance standards.
- Set up and manage music technology resources, including recording and sound systems for lessons, rehearsals, and performances.
- Provide technical support to students and staff in both music and art classes, as well as during extracurricular activities.
- Prepare and maintain art materials and equipment, ensuring they are ready for use in art classes and workshops.
- Assist in the setup and take down of art displays and exhibitions within the school.
- Collaborate with both the music and art departments to facilitate a dynamic and integrated learning environment.
- Support both departments with administrative tasks, inventory management, and the ordering of new supplies as needed.
- Proven experience with musical instruments, particularly with tuning violins/string instruments.
- Knowledge of music technology, sound equipment, and art materials.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within both music and art educational settings.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
- A background in music, art, or a related field is highly desirable.
