Your new role
Operating as a Senior External Audit Manager within this organisation is a rewarding and varied role which offers opportunities to further develop your career and gain more experience working across a broad range of organisations to ensure excellence in compliance and governance of public monies. The organisation audit £1 trillion of public expenditure and income, and gives you the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to align with the ambition to make greater use of this insight. The aim is to improve the management of public finances and the risks to delivering public services. As a Senior Audit Manager, you will work closely with Directors to identify opportunities to add real value for the organisations in your portfolio. This is an opportunity to both scrutinise and recommend improvements, engage with senior leaders across public services and use your exceptional skills to deliver timely and engaging information to benefit both your organisation and the clients in your remit.
What you\'ll need to succeed
As a CCAB (ACA/ICAS/ACCA etc) Qualified Accountant, you will have significant and demonstrable experience in audit project management, including agreeing audit timelines, team briefings, budget, and delivery of audit work. Alongside this, you will have experience operating as an Audit Senior Manager within complex organisations. With the ability to deal with technical and complex accounting and auditing judgements, including responding to emerging industry and quality issues, your passion will lie in ensuring that work completed is of the highest quality and adds value to both organisations. With an experienced team working alongside you, and multiple fields of reference and specialist knowledge hubs to draw upon, you will enjoy working collaboratively and engaging with a wide range of colleagues.
Using your professional judgement and scepticism to assess the quality and validity of audit evidence, challenge where greater assurance is needed and support wider teams to do so. Leading from the front by harnessing an inquisitive mindset and being an expert in your field.
