Your new company
The services of Hays have been retained by our client, Ards & North Down Borough Council, to recruit an Externally Funded Programme Manager on a temporary contract basis. This will be until 30th June 2024 but could be extended as it is covering a staff secondment.
Your new role
The services falling within the remit of this post include:
Good Relations Programme;
Peace IV Programme;
Community Safety Team;
Policing and Community Safety Programme.
In conjunction with the Head of Service, you will develop and implement a service unit business plan, and relevant policies and procedures in support of the Corporate Plan. This will include:
Maximising performance across the team, including effective implementation of performance management processes.
Managing and reviewing team members’ performance with the aim of development of skills and knowledge.
Ensuring the effective management of financial, human, and physical resources and associated budgets in the delivery of the service.
Complying with, and ensuring that other staff comply with, Council’s policies and procedures, including those relating to health, safety, wellbeing and safeguarding.

What you\'ll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
A degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area with one year\'s experience of the following:
Strategic partnership working with inter-agency programmes/ projects.
Managing staff.
The ability to engage with stakeholders and build effective relationships.
Experience of monitoring, planning, and controlling programmes and reporting on outcomes.
Additionally, you should have:
The ability to prioritise and manage conflicting work demands.
Financial management experience.
Experience of project management/business improvement processes.
Competency in the use of Microsoft applications.
