Job description

Moorlands School 

EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Practitioner, Level 3 

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. 

Salary: To be agreed dependent on experience 

This is a permanent role which will initially be term time only, plus four training days 

Responsible to: 

Head of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 

Main Responsibilities: 

  •  To work alongside Early Years Practitioners in the Squirrel’s class, 2- to 3-year-olds 
  •  To be responsible for a key worker group of children 

Main Duties 

  •  To demonstrate a good understanding of the Early Years curriculum and the Characteristics of Effective Learning 
  •  To work co-operatively with the Early Years team to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated activities, and organise continuous provision, considering children’s interests and ability 
  •  To use assessment to inform planning ensuring there is appropriate depth and challenge 
  •  To take care of resources, ensuring they are fit for purpose 
  •  To work as part of a team, developing positive professional relationships with colleagues 
  •  To liaise with parents as required, completing reports and documentation to share with parents, evidencing children’s progress 
  •  To complete formal risk assessments annually, or when new resources or equipment are introduced 
  •  To report any Health and Safety issues to the Head of Early Years 
  •  To adhere to policies and procedures implemented by the school 
  •  To be aware of safeguarding procedures and implement these 
  •  To take part in training to support professional development 
  •  To attend staff meetings and parent’s evenings, as required
