Are you an enthusiastic and committed primary school teacher, with great energy, passion and a relentless focus on high standards?
As part of the United Learning Trust, Dukesgate Academy is a one form entry primary school for children aged three to eleven years and is a school full of potential. Dukesgate Academy is a calm, caring and inclusive place where all children are encouraged to aim high, and develop to the very best of their ability. We place an emphasis on positive behaviour and developing good attitudes and habits towards learning.
We are looking for a teacher who is:
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic and has a good understanding of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and engaging in research-based teaching methods.
  • Innovative and creative in their approach to teaching and learning.
  • Committed to putting children’s education at the centre of everything that happens in the school.
  • Determined to make a difference.
  • Willing and able to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, staff, governors and the wider community.
  • Has outstanding relationships with children.

As a member of our team, you will have opportunities to use your wider skills and interests to benefit our children. As well as your experience and qualifications, your personal qualities will set you apart and make you an ideal candidate to join our school family. You will bring to the role genuine enthusiasm and drive, with a passionate desire to make a difference. Crucially, you are highly professional and will thrive in a “no excuses” culture. You have a core belief that every single child, irrespective of background and starting point, can and will be successful in their learning.
We can offer you:
  • Many opportunities for professional development, within our school and our Trust.
  • A supportive, forward thinking leadership team who invest in people.
  • An opportunity to work in a charitable organisation that is focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged children; the core value of the Trust is “The Best in Everyone”.
  • Fantastic children who are enthusiastic, eager to learn and who relish a challenge.
  • A welcoming and vibrant local community.
  • A friendly, hardworking and committed staff.
  • Leadership development opportunities.
  • A welcoming and attractive learning environment in which to work, where everyone is valued.
  • Opportunity to develop your leadership skills.

You are encouraged to visit our school before submitting your application and we are welcoming visits to the school week commencing 16th April 2024. Please ring Melanie Slater via the school office on 0161 799 2210 if you would like to attend.
Applications need to be submitted by Friday 26th April 2024 at 12 noon. Successfully applicants will be invited to attend an interview on Thursday 2nd May 2024.
Additional information about the Dukesgate Academy family can be found on our school website at www.dukesgateacademy.co.uk
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure. An online search may be conducted for shortlisted candidates as part of due diligence checks in the recruitment process.
