Salary: £140.56 - £165.32

As an Early Years Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality and engaging lessons that cover all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. You will also be expected to assess and monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and report to parents and carers. You will work closely with other teachers and support staff to ensure a smooth transition from nursery to reception and from EYFS to Key Stage 1.
Your role as an Early Years Teacher
Motivating and stimulating children's learning abilities, often through experiencesProviding pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environmentAiding the development of a child's personal, social, language and physical coordination abilitiesDeveloping and producing visual aids and teaching resourcesEncouraging mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative playHelping children develop curiosity and knowledgeWorking with others, including teaching assistants and nursery nurses as well as volunteer helpers, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoorsSharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and building and maintaining relationships with parentsObserving, assessing and recording each child's progressEnsuring the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the settingAttending staff meetings and staff training daysKeeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice
What you need to be considered for this role
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalentExperience of teaching in EYFS or key stage 1A thorough knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and the expectations for receptionExcellent classroom management and organisational skillsA creative and innovative approach to teaching and learningA commitment to continuous professional developmentA positive attitude and a sense of humour
