We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptable EYFS Teaching Assistant to begin work at the start of the spring term in a fantastic West Bridgford primary school. It will begin as a morning only role that may develop into a full time role once the student has acclimatised. For the right candidate this role is likely to become a permanent position.
In the role you will be working one to one with a severely autistic student - you will be responsible for championing their academic and social progress. The student is non-verbal; therefore the candidate needs to be an exceptional communicator and patient. The candidate will also be required to carry out personal care as required.
Main duties will entail:
- Supporting the pupil within the EYFS unit (aged 3-5).
- Using outdoor space to encourage learning through play.
- Providing personal care to the student as required, ensuring good hygiene at all times.
- Engaging and support the pupil in lessons, being an advocate for their academic needs.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an excellent communicator.
- Be comfortable and experienced in delivering personal care.
- Have previous experience working within an EYFS environment.
- Be capable of contributing to the wider EYFS unit team.
