We are seeking a creative and talented Fabric Designer to join our design team and contribute to the development of our exciting and diverse product range.
Position Overview:
As a Fabric Designer you will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing and trendsetting fabrics for our fast-paced fashion collections. You will collaborate with the design team to develop innovative textile designs that align with our brand aesthetic and target market. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for colour, pattern, and texture, along with a passion for staying informed about the latest industry trends.
Responsibilities:
- Research and Trend Analysis:
- Stay abreast of current and upcoming fashion trends, colours, and textures.
- Conduct market research to identify consumer preferences and competitors’ offerings.
- Design Development:
- Conceptualize and create original fabric designs that align with the brand’s vision and target audience.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure that fabric designs complement overall garment designs.
- Work closely with the colour palette and material selection to create cohesive and visually appealing fabric collections.
- Ensure that the chosen fabrics meet quality standards and are cost-effective for production.
- Provide detailed technical specifications and instructions to suppliers for the production of designed fabrics.
- Collaborate with production teams to address any technical challenges that may arise during the manufacturing process.
- Oversee the creation of fabric prototypes and samples.
- Evaluate and refine samples to meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, merchandisers, and production teams.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the successful execution of fabric designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Fabric Designer in the fast fashion industry.
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
