Are you an experienced facilities professional, looking for a new challenge in a senior leadership role?

We are looking for a talented Director to help shape and grow the Pick Everard workplace strategy, shaping the provision of an engaging and productive workplace for Pick Everard across the UK.

Please note that we have 15 offices located across the UK, with the majority of our operational team working from our Leicester head office, however we are open to applications from candidates across the UK.
 
In this role, you must be open to occasional travel to other offices.

Your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for ensuring all workplaces are maintained within quality, security, efficiency and statutory compliance requirements; actively managing risk in operation and in response to change.
  • Optimising value in property tenure and operation across the estate, advising on occupation strategy and planning in-line with Pick Everard business planning.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in facilities operation and tenure strategy, ensuring property assets continue to support the property strategy, current and future business planning.
  • Working with key stakeholders to reimagine the employee experience of using Pick Everard’s office space, including space management and optimisation of how we work in a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Planning, programming and project management (including change management) of workplace improvement initiatives, effectively communicating with staff and mitigating impact on business operations.
  • Advise on future occupation strategy, minimising risk and optimising opportunity in tenure and facility provision in delivery of the property strategyChairing the Premises and Workplace Support Group, leading on all property/facility related matters.
  • Responsible for managing the facilities budget across the firm including rent, rates, service charge, repairs and maintenance expenditure.
  • Escalation of material issues with landlords / agents, service charge, rates and rent increases
  • Support the wellbeing and pastoral care of staff promoting a positive, vibrant and energetic workplace in which exceptional people can thrive.
  • Supporting the business function, providing professional advisory services in relation to General Practice Surveying matters, including undertaking fee earning commissions identified in response to client enquiries.Working with other in-house experts including or Architects and Interior Designers to optimise office spaces to promote group work and collaboration

Request

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Director with a proven track record in facilities management of commercial property across multiple sites within the UK.

Key skills:

  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Facilities Management legislative health & safety requirements.
  • Good understanding of the UK property management, including landlord and tenant obligations under UK law.
  • Strong negotiation skills, experienced in securing value settlements through negotiation with Landlords, Agents, surveyors etc. in all Landlord and Tenant issues.
  • Preferably 5 years plus post qualification experience in a relevant role within Facilities Management or General Practice surveying.
  • Professional membership of RICS preferred, other institutions considered include:IWFM, CIOB, APM, RIBA
  • Excellent managerial and inter-personal skills, a proven track record in managing change, extensive experience in managing budgets, good strategic vision.
  • Excellent planning and programming skills and working knowledge of current common forms of construction contract, principally NEC and JCT.
  • Experience in the supervision of contractors.
  • Effective people management skills.
  • Minimum BSc qualification in a surveying / property / facilities management /construction related discipline.
