An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals to undertake the role of Facilities & Logistics Assistant. There are two positions available, one full time 37 hours working across Canterbury and the other is part time 18.5 hours working across Nackington. The Estates team have a central base at Sutton Road in Maidstone.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of team working and provide evidence of the following: Trade skills or experience, full, clean driving licence, ability to work both within a team and unsupervised.
This role includes working as part of a team that provides a full range of facilities services. Duties will include preventative maintenance and minor repairs, office moves, painting and decorating, meeting room set ups, security and escorting, driving, vehicle maintenance, collecting CSI exhibits and general postal duties on a rota basis around the county, cleaning, and front counter reception cover.
You must be self-motivated with a flexible approach. A simple shift system ensures that the office is staffed during core working hours, allowing service calls to be actioned in a timely manner therefore maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
The post requires some lifting duties therefore you will need to ensure that you are able to perform these tasks. A general knowledge and an awareness of Health & Safety policies would be desirable however training would be given.
Experience in a similar role would be an advantageous however, due to the variety of customer calls, no two days are the same, a proactive, can-do attitude offering common sense and clear thinking is a must.
Finally, previous experience of using a computer software package including Microsoft products and email is required. Work will be administered through a variety of channels including bespoke computer programs, and the use of office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Service Manager HornBill and Outlook will be part of daily duties.
Given the requirement to provide a core service to cover an operating period of between 0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday the candidate needs to have a flexible approach towards their start and finish times as and when required as directed by local management.
This role would suit a motivated and practical individual who can demonstrate the following criteria.
Experience in practical maintenance and general repairs
Knowledge of Health and Safety and manual handling techniques in the workplace
Evidence of excellent communication skills
Working knowledge of IT and MS office applications.
Hold a full UK driving licence
Flexibility in core working hours and geographical location.
In addition, it would be desirable if you could evidence:
Customer service experience
You will be working as part of a wider team that provides facilities services county wide, therefore it is essential that you hold a Full UK driving licence to enable you to visit your team at different locations and support the wider facilities team when required.
Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £23,646.00.
