Job description

An experienced Facilities Security Supervisor with team supervision experience is needed to join the team at this leading facilities management company based in Middlesbrough Town Centre on a full-time basis.

About the Role

To act proactively, ensuring all public and back-of-house areas of the centre/site are safe and secure, protecting centre property and people and meeting the high standards and specifications set by the company. To react with an immediate and appropriate response to security incidents and to ensure that Health, Safety and security standards are delivered and maintained.

Support in the day-to-day supervision of the daily operations while taking pride in your job delivering excellent customer service to visitors, tenants and colleagues

The selected candidate will be responsible for Security and report directly to the Operations Manager. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with all colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Centre
  • Arrange to carry out all daily, weekly, and monthly Centre checks in conjunction with the Centre Manager
  • To carry out a daily inspection of entrances, mall interior, streets, car parks, service roads/areas and public access areas back of the house
  • To monitor the car park, assist with any faults in machinery, and deal with customer issues
  • Undertake removal of small furniture items, for example, cupboards, filing cabinets and meeting room furniture and dispose of safely
  • Ensure all Health & Safety checks are carried out as requested by Operations/Centre Manager
  • In conjunction with the Centre Manager, communicate and deliver Health and Safety practices and regulations to company/centre specifications
  • Prevent, detect and investigate; disturbances, offences on site, and signs of intrusion, ensure security of doors and gates and that no unauthorised personnel enter restricted areas therefore creating a safe and comfortable working environment for employees and visitors.
  • Accurately reporting all incidents, writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as property damage, presence of unauthorised persons, requests for assistance or unusual occurrences.
  • Monitoring and operating CCTV cameras, including viewing and downloading recorded footage and maintaining effective multiple information feeds simultaneously, namely CCTV footage and the radio system
  • Dealing appropriately and with courtesy to individuals who act in an anti-social manner, in line with SIA regulations
  • Support tenants with individuals who act anti-social, in line with SIA regulations
  • Responding to emergency situations as they arise, liaising with the emergency services, police, ambulance and fire service to resolve issues and maintain security and service, directing emergency vehicles and other traffic on site
  • Front desk duties, including answering telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information, logging visitors in and out via the visitors' book
  • Testing the fire alarm systems, including the setting and disengaging of the alarm panel and the activation of the call points, dealing promptly with alarm activations
  • Adherence to strict levels of confidentiality with respect to tenants and customers

Required Experience:

  • Basic competency with IT and technology
  • Experience in supervising teams
  • Working knowledge of entrepreneurial, fast-paced, flexible retail environment
  • Experience in health and safety in a customer service/retail environment
  • To be able to communicate with customers, colleagues and visitors fluently in English
  • Observant and able to complete accurate reports
  • To have a working knowledge of own Health and Safety responsibilities
  • SIA valid Door Licence/SIA CCTV Licence
  • Fire Marshall duties
  • Experience with COSHH
  • First aid trained
