CuliNEX is seeking a reliable part-time Facilities Technician to join our Facilities support team in Tukwila Washington. In this position, you will be responsible for general repair and cleaning activities to ensure our building and commercial kitchens remain safe, clean, and functional workplaces for our tenants and employees.Being self-motivated and possessing the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervision is essential in this job. The ideal candidate will have prior commercial building or kitchen maintenance work experience, and the ability to work with diverse population sand communicate effectively across language barriers. Bilingual(English/Spanish) abilities are a plus.
The position requires 20 hours minimum per week to start and primarily covers Tuesday through Saturday evenings with some flexibility. The position may also share rotating on call duties to respond to emergency needs.

Summary of Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Performing minor building interior/exterior, plumbing, electrical and lighting repairs.
- Support kitchen equipment repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Maintain grounds and provide seasonal services for snow & inclement weather.
- Work with Facilities team members and other stakeholders during projects & renovations.
- Perform other maintenance, repair, security, and tenant management duties as assigned.
- Cleaning and polishing floors using commercial scrubber/burnisher.
- Spot cleaning, trash removal, and stocking of bathrooms and commercial kitchen areas
- Deep cleaning of kitchens and kitchen equipment.
- Pressure washing exterior entry/walkways.
Requirements and Qualifications...
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Drivers License: A valid drivers license is required for this position.
- Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a similar position is preferred, with a preference for those who have worked in the food and beverage industry.
- Technical Knowledge:
- The ideal candidate should possess a working knowledge of janitorial processes, plumbing and electrical systems, This knowledge is essential for effective job performance. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems experience a plus!
- Tool Proficiency: Experience working with hand and power tools, as well as sourcing repair parts and supplies, is necessary for the role.
- Technical Literacy: The ability to read manuals and instructions is crucial. Proficiency in using the internet for obtaining information related to job tasks is also required.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective teamwork and collaboration within the company.
- Problem-Solving: A passion for creative problem-solving is highly valued in this role.
The successful candidate for this position will need to meet the following physical requirements:
- Lifting and Carrying: The ability to frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds is essential for performing various tasks within this role. This includes, but is not limited to, moving packages, equipment, supplies, and furniture.
- Standing and Walking: The role may involve significant periods of standing and walking. The employee should be able to stand and walk for extended durations during the shift.
- Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending and stooping are required to access low shelves, equipment, and perform cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Climbing: The position may require climbing ladders and ascending stairs, depending on the specific tasks associated with the job.
- Manual Dexterity: The ability to use hands and fingers to operate equipment, tools, and perform intricate tasks such as repairing and maintaining machinery.
- Visual Acuity: A level of visual acuity to read safety labels, instructions, and operate equipment safely.
- Hearing: Adequate hearing ability to receive and relay instructions and warnings in a potentially noisy environment.
- Weather Exposure: This position may require working outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to rain, snow, heat, or cold. The candidate should be able to adapt and work safely in these conditions, utilizing appropriate protective gear as necessary.
- On-Call Availability: This position requires the employee to be on-call during night hours, responding promptly to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues. On-call duty may involve quick response to alarms and similar situations.
