You will be an experienced and qualified CAMHS professional (RMN, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, psychotherapist) with professional knowledge acquired through qualifying/masters level training in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy. You will be able to work alongside colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team and develop relationships across agencies to meet the needs of children and families. The ability to adapt communication and intervention style to meet individual need is important and you will have knowledge of child development and child protection procedures.
The role of the Family and Systemic Psychotherapist is to provide specialist systemic assessment and therapeutic services to children/young people and their families/carers who have been referred with complex needs. Within this role the post holder will: Contribute to the multi-professional team to provide specific, evidence-based interventions to children/young people and their families/carers. Have outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage with children/young people and their families/carers as well as a range of professionals. Undertake specialist assessments, manage risks and hold a complex caseload Using a strengths-based approach, ensure clinical effectiveness through the use of evidence-based interventions, goal-based, collaborative practice and Routine Outcome Measures.
Provide supervision and support to other clinicians with the ability to demonstrate compassionate leadership, to understand and follow HR policies and procedures, ensure staff wellbeing and development and adopt a collaborative approach to engage staff with a range of skills and communication needs. Work effectively with operational, professional and clinical leadership colleagues to support clinicians in devising and implementing evidence-based care to suit the individual needs of parents/carers and infants. Contribute to the provision of a range of early help/light touch interventions across pathways. Attend, participate and chair relevant meetings with the ability to present information in a range of formats, adapting communication to meet the needs of others.
