Duties of the Family Court Advisor:
- Providing comprehensive and professional advice to Family Courts on the well-being and safety of children involved in court proceedings.
- Gathering and analysing case information from various sources, including from children, families, and other professionals.
- Preparing high-quality reports for the court and providing concise recommendations to judges about child arrangements and suggested outcomes.
- Working closely with other professionals such as social workers, solicitors, police, and medical staff to gather evidence and viewpoints.
- Ensuring that the voice of the child is central to court proceedings, and their views and wishes are effectively represented.
- Providing support and information to families and children about court processes and outcomes.
Requirements of the Family Court Advisor:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Experience working with children and families in a legal or social work context
