INTERVIEWS TO BE HELD THE AFTERNOON OF 4th MARCH 2023
Together for Children works on behalf of Sunderland City Council to deliver children's services in the city, which means that local authority continuous service terms and conditions apply. Child Centered, Respectful, Creative and Transparent are our company values, as well as an Ofsted rated Outstanding service, and this is what you can expect from Together for Children when you join us.
Together for Children has been successful in being awarded Government funding to develop a Family Hub and Start to Life model as part of the Department for Education's Transformation Fund. The Family Hubs will enable services such as midwifery, health visitors, mental health support and services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities to access support in one place; providing an integrated, wrap-around service for the whole family from conception, through a child's early years, until they are 19 years of age (or 25 should they have special educational needs and disabilities).
The aims of the Family Hubs are to ensure that families can access the help and support they need at an early stage, prioritise the crucial first days of children's lives, tackle any issues before they escalate, reduce disadvantage, and achieve better outcomes for all children and young people. They will also present an opportunity for partners and services to work together to support families in one place.
We are recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to be responsible for recruiting volunteers from a wide sector of the community, delivering training and coordinating the volunteer programme within a locality.
Breathing Spaces is funded from the Department for Education Short Break Innovation Fund, and looking to grow our offer following two successful years of delivery, into a final year projects. The role will also involve developing the Breathing Space Mentoring Hub offer; supporting and debriefing volunteer mentors, in addition to matching children and young people with suitable mentors, in order to achieve Breathing Space outcomes. The post holder will also develop volunteer pathways and establish links and relationships with community organisations, as well as supporting the coordination and facilitation of the Family Hub Parent and Carer Panels.
The position will require some evening and weekend work as required.
As well as an extremely attractive and competitive salary, other benefits of working for Together for Children include flexible working arrangements and an agile working policy. We have free onsite parking, provide a Local Government Pension Scheme and flexi scheme as well as a good health and wellbeing programme being provided to employees.
