A rare opportunity has become available to join Swindon Borough Council’s Family Nurse Partnership team. The Family Nurse Partnership is an international licenced, evidence- based parenting programme that sits within Swindon’s Public Health Nursing team. The Family Nurse Partnership team are highly skilled, innovative and supportive who derive from a range of registered health backgrounds. Collectively they are responsible for delivering the FNP preventative home visiting programme to young women in Swindon.
Your role
This is a demanding, specialist role that requires a high level of professional skill and clinical practice to work with young women who are expecting their first baby. No two days are the same in this challenging but rewarding role. The successful candidate must be approachable, energetic and resilient and have a proven history of engaging young people.
A strong knowledge and active working experience within the safeguarding arena is essential for this role. The successful candidate must be adaptable and creative in their work, happy to use role play on a daily basis and create a safe space for clients to develop self-efficacy and skills for parenthood. Ideally, they will have experience working within the Healthy Child Programme however, a thorough knowledge of the impact areas within the HCP will be accepted.
Training and support will be provided to ensure competencies are achieved for the role. This training and support includes residential placements throughout the first year, supervision, e learning, and learning whilst delivering the programme and through team learning.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
