About the Role
As a Family Practitioner you will provide targeted support to children and families with multiple and complex needs, subject to a range of statutory interventions in Mid and East Devon. You will support families to reduce the risk of children and young people becoming accommodated in the local authority care. The Family Practitioner role works alongside social workers to inform assessment and planning for children and their families to attempt to reduce harm, and achieve the best outcomes for children.
About You
We aim to deliver earlier and quicker services to families working in partnership with other professionals across Mid and East Devon. You will need to build relationships with families and provide practical hands on help and support to make positive changes. You will need good communication skills and have skills to adapt your approach when working with children and families. You will also need to be efficient, dependable, tenacious and assertive, working with families who have been previously apprehensive to interventions from Children’s Social Care.
