Hawksworth Wood Primary school is a friendly and welcoming school close to both the Kirkstall and Horsforth areas of Leeds.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Family Support Worker to provide a complementary service to some of our children and families from September.
Purpose of job
To plan and prepare nurture group interventions for children and families across school
To assess and evaluate interventions using the schools chosen method
To lead play sessions during lunch and play times,
To plan proactive and reactive interventions that suit the needs of the school
Maintain regular contact with families of children who require extra support
Work alongside the Assistant Head Teacher to negotiate workload and commitments
Support children who require specific class re-integration
To inform parents / carers of support services and agencies who can offer support
Keep records of their work with children and families all responsibilities and training as designated Child Protection Officer
Act as the Lead Professional on Early Help Plans in the school
Lead on the delivery of parental support programs and courses
Actively promote participation in self-development for parents / carers
Support families in maintaining good attendance
