Family Support Officer

Location: Oldham, UK
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Position Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Job Overview: As a Family Support Officer, you will play a critical role in fostering positive relationships between the school and families. You will provide practical support and advice, ensuring that students and their families have access to the resources and assistance they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with families, offering support and guidance on various issues.

Liaise with school staff to identify students and families who may require additional support.

Collaborate with teachers to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of interactions with families.

Promote a positive and inclusive school environment that respects and values diversity.

Qualifications and Skills:

Relevant qualifications in social work, counselling, education, or a related field.

Previous experience in a Family Support, youth work, social work, or community outreach role.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families from diverse backgrounds.

Empathy, patience, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
