Female Football Education Co-ordinator

Manchester United Foundation uses football to engage and inspire young people to build a better life for themselves and unite the communities in which they live. Dedicated staff deliver football coaching, educational programmes and personal development, providing young people with opportunities to change their lives for the better.

The Purpose:  

Manchester United Foundation believes every young person should feel empowered to achieve their goals and uses the power of football and Manchester United to support young people to make positive choices in their live.
This role is positioned within the Inclusion and High School team and will use the profile of Manchester United Football Club to engage and inspire Women and Girls to make a lasting difference by:

Providing opportunities for Women and Girls to engage in football.
Creating future female leaders.
Providing a platform to raise awareness and challenge attitudes towards women and girls.

The Role:

• To plan, deliver and review schemes of work (project manage the female high school work).
• Create a fun and safe high school environment that is inspiring, dynamic, challenging and educational and aligned with the Foundation’s philosophy.
• To lead, manage, mentor, and support staff working on the High Schools programme ensuring they continue to deliver the highest standards of care, supervision, safeguarding and service.
• Quality assurance of allocated projects, through weekly school visits.
• Visits to include but not limited to; master class delivery, sharing of best practice, quality assurance assessments, case study collation, staff meetings and feedback.
• Complete risk assessments and emergency action plans to an agreed schedule to always ensure a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with Manchester United Foundation and Manchester United Football Club’s policies. Ensuring these are updated annually and changes communicated to staff.
• Build strong and effective partnerships within the parent club, internally and with all external partners for the betterment of the Foundation as a whole, and to support the girl’s development objectives.
• Develop and manage effective working relationships with key stakeholders including the Premier League, The FA, South Manchester Girls League and other recognised partners that can support the role in achieving its outcomes.
• Keep up to date with National (FA) legislation, policy, and statistics.
• Uphold and promote the Foundation’s Safeguarding policy working in conjunction with Manchester United FC’s safeguarding team.
• Ensure the timely collection of data, information and the formation of evidence demonstrating good practice/case studies for the purposes of supporting communication strategies and for monitoring and evaluation. This will be in line with company, as well as national data protection legislation, guidelines and policies including GDPR.
• To ensure everything is done safely, fairly, effectively, and efficiently (strong governance). To plan and deliver to the best of standards (high quality).
• To capture the success and impact of your work (monitoring and evaluation).
• Responsible to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk.

The Person:

• To want to make a positive difference to young people.
• Hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable People Skills (Self-assured, build rapport, empathise with others, emotionally intelligent, approachable.
• Understanding of Safeguarding best practice Knowledge of implementing policies and procedures, especially health and safety and risk assessments. Prepared to travel, nationally and internationally.
• Organisational and communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
• Strong project management.
• Personal skills to build rapport and inspire young people.
• Ability to capture the success and report on the impact of your work.
• Previous practical experience of working within girls’ football.
• Previous experience Inspiring and developing staff.
• A full UK driving licence with access to own car for business use.
• UEFA C Licence or relevant support qualifications.
• Knowledge in: Women and Girls Development, Premier League Programmes, FA Youth Pathway, Local Girls Football.
