About the role
Person centred Personal Carers required to support an active 34-year-old lady with complex care needs in her own home, allowing her to remain independent. The lady has mobility issues and at times requires a wheelchair.
The position will require driving the client to take her to scheduled appointments, part time work and activities. Other support, such as maintaining the household, cooking, shopping, and personal care where required post-seizures, will also be necessary. Due to insurance reasons, and the necessity of personal care, candidates must be female and aged 25 and above, with a full and clean driving license.
Candidates must be available for 24hr shifts, paid at the excellent relevant rates throughout the entirety of the working day.
Experience of care and of seizures is preferred, but all necessary training will be provided.
*Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies must be a female, due to personal care.
Terms and Conditions
- Hours and days of work A minimum of 3 x 24 hour shifts available, in 4 week period.
- Additional hours may be available at times to cover other PA’s holiday hours and double up cover, when S needs this. (cover Monday-Saturday)
- Must be flexible and willing to be adaptable with shift pattern – i.e. Saturdays or Sundays
- Pay rate: Day rate: £13.73 per hour, Sleeping night Rate: £12.53 per hour, Waking night rate: £13.73 per hour
- Training: All relevant training will be provided. Employees will also be able to pursue further and additional training where required.
- Annual leave: 5.6 weeks pro-rata
- Background Checks: A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this position. This will be paid for by the employer
- If successful, you will be required to provide details of two referees.
- Trial Period: This post is subject to a probationary period of 3 months.
