I am looking for a Support Worker (Female only) to join my support team in Hingham. I live on my own and have continuous support.
I am looking for someone who is fun, likes to have a laugh but will also understand my learning disability and mental health needs. I need you to be the sort of person that can take things in your stride, remain calm and be confident.
I enjoy arts & crafts, having my nails done, watching old slapstick comedies on you-tube, listening to music while out for drives in my car, walks and feeding horses, relaxing with face mask, visiting local bakery and keeping in contact/visiting family.
I need people around me that will follow my agreed support plan¿s. These help me through cycles when my mental health alters my thought process. I can then struggle on a day-to-day basis which can have an impact in how I feel, leading to me having high anxiety which can then affect my behaviour.
Please note; You don¿t have to have to have experience in supporting someone with a learning disabilities and mental health, as you will receive an excellent induction enabling us to get to know each other as we build a rapport and positive relationship.
If you are empathetic and understanding this could be for you!
If you are interested, please do get in touch as I have a great team Manager who can chat through any questions that you may have!
Specific training will be provided to help you in your role. This will include:
- Rapport building and developing a positive and meaningful relationships.
- Person Centred Active Support (PCAS) to help reinforce a positive relationship between yourself and me.
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to help you understand the purpose and function of any behaviours that may seem different.
- Mental Health Awareness and understanding well-being
- Regular debriefing meetings
