St Jude’s Hospital is a specialist healthcare provider in the areas of Fertility & Assisted Conception. In April 2022 we shall be celebrating 20 years of professional and productive service delivery in Fertility & Assisted Conception. We are a small team doing big things consistently well!
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative registered nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will be required to play an active part in the day to day running of the clinic.
All applicants must have a current RGN qualification and up to date NMC registration.
All applicants must have an up-to-date CPD portfolio.
Duties:
- To prepare and assist with the smooth running of the clinic ensuring a high standards of patient care.
- To carry out clinical duties in a professional and compassionate manner in accordance with clinic policies and protocols, and in conformity with the appropriate regulatory bodies including the HFEA and CQC.
- To carry out scheduling of patient treatment cycles, patient information sessions, drug administration and assist senior practitioners during egg collections, embryo transfer and other assisted conception procedures.
- Supporting patients through their fertility treatment in a gentle and patient manner maintaining continuity of care and support.
- To ensure compliance with the HFEA Code of Practice and Quality standards.
- Contribute to writing of SOPs
- To demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and skills.
- To conduct audit projects as required.
- To enter patient information and treatment details as required by the clinic and the HFEA.
- To liaise as necessary with other members of the team.
- To handle all enquiries from potential clients, clients and the public, in a professional way.
Skills:
- Excellent nursing/midwifery skills
- Excellent computer skills
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Office Meticulous attention to detail
- Ultrasound scanning including transvaginal scanning
- Phlebotomy Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good team player
- Commitment to excellent customer care

- Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy at all times, particularly when raising issues with patients
- Ability to represent yourself and the clinic in a professional manner at all times

Organisation Chart:
- Accountable to the Medical Director
- Work in close collaboration/liaison with the Fertility Nurse & admin staff
- Assist the embryologist and all key staff to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
Hours: Part-time or full depending on requirement of the right candidate. Working some weekends is required.
This position is subject to DBS checks at enhanced level
