The BFI is seeking a Volunteers Coordinator to lead on all aspects of administration and organisation of volunteer resource at BFI Flare and be responsible for recruiting, scheduling, training, supervising and supporting the festival volunteers.
About BFI Flare
BFI Flare is our long-running LGBTQIA+ festival, with a growing audience in London and on BFI Player, and one of the most inclusive film events of the BFI’s annual calendar. This year’s festival runs from the 13 to the 24 March 2024.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with the volunteer recruitment process, including shortlisting applications, and interviewing new volunteers
- Work with the Senior Systems Coordinator to develop processes for using the volunteer scheduling system to assign shifts
- Collecting volunteer information, availability, and skills, and maintaining an up-to-date database.
- Keep volunteer records up to date including availability, contact details and rota.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Demonstrable and significant previous administrative experience gained within a Festival or similarly fast-paced environment, in a similar role
- An appreciation of, and passion for LGBTQIA+ arts and culture
- Demonstrable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and to manage and meet deadlines
- Ability to build effective relationships with key contacts across BFI and stakeholder organisations, and to communicate effectively and tactfully with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to present and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
