  • Input into weekly and monthly ECoW reports.
  • Ecology surveys (including protected species and peat probing).
  • Undertaking pre-construction baseline surveys.
  • Data entry (Excel) and digitisation (QGIS).

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience in an environmental field (Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Management).
  • Valid UK driving licence (manual is essential).
  • Knowledge and experience of undertaking ecology surveys.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Strong IT skills including, MS Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home.
  • Willingness to support other disciplines within MacArthur Green (such as ecology, water quality monitoring and peat) when required.
  • Live in or near Glasgow.

Desirable

  • Experience of liaising with statutory regulators on behalf of the client.
  • Experience of working on large scale renewable projects.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Protected species licence(s).
  • 4x 4 driving experience.
  • Management experience.
  • Experience of undertaking ECoW work.

A bit more about us

Through the work we do and the way we operate, we aim to have an enduring positive environmental legacy. We are doing this in three ways: we only work on projects which deliver a positive environmental impact, we support research projects relevant to sustainable development (we have part-funding six PhD students) and we have planted our own native woodland scheme in Argyll (almost 30,000 trees).
