Field Interviewer - Doncaster

This is a great opportunity to join our team as a Field Interviewer working for the Office for National Statistics. As a Field Interviewer carrying out official surveys you will be helping to inform Government about the state of the nation. Your role will be a combination of field visits to addresses to encourage households to complete our surveys, carrying out surveys in their homes and completing phone interviews.
You will be home based. You are required to work within a 40 mile radius (approx) of the allocated location.Your work will be allocated to ensure that you can travel and complete your work within your contracted hours in this area. Therefore you need to consider how you will be able to achieve this based on your home location in comparison to your chosen location preference.
This role comes with flexible working hours that we hope will meet your needs as well as ours. You will be employed on either a 1144 or 1560 hours annualised contract which is broadly equivalent to 22 or 30 hours work per week.This varies according to business need.
What we are we looking for? We are looking for individuals who have a friendly, outgoing personality and the confidence to approach and converse with a wide selection of people either via phone or face to face. You will need to have excellent communication skills to be the face of ONS and, where needed, to persuade any reluctant member of the public to take part in our surveys and to be interviewed.
Basic requirements:
• you will need to be flexible in your working hours to meet the needs of the public,
• you will need to be available to work varying hours at different times depending on workloads, including in the evening, and on Saturdays when necessary,
• Candidates offered a post will need to have unrestricted use of a car.
, You must have a valid full UK driving licence ( inclusive of the right of EU nationals).
• Candidates offered a post will need a broadband internet connection at their home address and be prepared to use it for work,
• if your application is successful, you will need to apply for a Basic Disclosure Criminal Record Certificate and in addition we will carry out a 3 year referencing check.
Your salary will be paid monthly. The full-time equivalent (37 hours per week/1924 hours per annum) starting salary rate is £22,699
he actual salary is paid pro-rata;for this job it is £13,496 per annum (1144hrs) or £18,404 (1560 hrs).
