Field Service Engineer Position Overview
My client are currently on the lookout for a dynamic Field Service Engineer to be a vital part of their dedicated Services team. As the go-to person for our valued customers on-site, you'll skillfully manage customer interactions with a touch of professionalism and expertise, tackling a diverse range of rotating equipment challenges. Beyond the field, you'll find yourself immersed in the cutting-edge workshop, contributing to innovation in a state-of-the-art environment when not out in the field. Due to this element of the role, candidates will need to be based within an accesable distance to Birmignham for the occasions when needed on site in the workshop.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and inspire an on-site team, ensuring a comprehensive focus on Health, Safety, and Environmental standards for yourself and your team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our valued customers at their sites or locations, managing all customer interactions with professionalism and expertise.
- Conduct fault-finding activities on a diverse range of rotating machinery, showcasing your technical prowess and problem-solving skills.
- Execute the dismantling, inspection, and rebuilding of machinery in adherence to pre-established Undertake equipment removal, installations, and commissioning activities, contributing to seamless project execution.

- Conduct alignment checks using either DTIs or Laser alignment equipment.
Field Service Engineer Position Requirements
- Successful completion of a recognised 4-year apprenticeship or possession of a mechanical engineering qualification.
- Experience working with a verity of Rotating Equipment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in project requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, ensuring precision in every task.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills, establishing trust and confidence with our clients.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
