Field Service Engineer
Billingham
Base Salary £25,000 + offshore rates once full trained
The role of Field Engineer is to safely carry out site survey, installation, servicing, and commissioning of a portfolio of specialist level and density instrument products on customer locations worldwide.
Key elements of the role - must be mobile as over 50% travel (possibly international / offshore) including extended working hours / on-call / stand-by as required (reasonable).
Accountabilities
- Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health & safety regulations and quality standards.
- Safely undertaking work on customer sites whilst upholding our client’s reputation
- Safely commission specialist level and density instrument products to customers project specifications, ensuring compliance is always met.
- Packing, labelling, and consigning of dangerous goods ensuring all applicable legislation is adhered to.
- Completing the installation & removal of Radioactive Sources on Customer Sites worldwide adhering to global legislation.
- Maintaining the Radioactive source database and associated documentation in compliance with all Policies and Procedures.
- Assisting Pre-Fat, FAT and any instrument / equipment testing
- Maintaining the Radioactive source database and associated documentation in compliance with all Policies and Procedures.
- Undertaking maintenance or modifying existing installed systems
- Servicing of existing installations to ensure correct operation and conformance to current legislation and customers’ requirements.
- Investigating faults of existing installations
- Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports / presentations
- Working collaboratively with system design engineers, Project Managers, and other field engineers to design, install and commission instrument solutions.
- Preparing and completing job work packs, commissioning check sheets and completion reports.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and contractors
Essential
- HNC / Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering
- Demonstrable field experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages
- Possess a strong Health & Safety mindset
- Excellent verbal & written communication and organisational skills dealing with customers at a global level
- Demonstrable experience in successfully working to tight deadlines with multiple tasks
- Flexible and reliable
- Own initiative and experience to overcome problem solving
- Determination of prompting personnel development
