Field Service Engineer (Forklifts)

My client is an established business in the Material Handling industry within the Yorkshire region. Due to expansion, they now have an opportunity for a Field Service Engineer. You will be working with a great team and exciting, innovative equipment. Being a specialist dealer for a renowned electrical brand, you will have the opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge on the future of forklift trucks and lithium battery technology.

Candidates will be able to diagnose and conduct the repair or service in a knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and enthusiastic manner, to the highest standard swiftly and expertly. They currently have a large customer base which includes a high amount of electrical equipment, so any previous electrical knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential. They are looking for an experienced forklift engineer or plant fitter. In exchange, they offer a competitive benefits package with a salary circa up to £36k, full door-to-door payment, overtime availability, company van with personal use option, day shifts (Mon - Fri), and much more.

Field Service Engineer responsibilities:

• Servicing and repair of trucks as directed by the Service Manager.
• Diagnosing the exact nature of each query and repair with a friendly, efficient, 'can-do' attitude.
• Completing a service report for each job on a PDA system.
• Reporting to the Service Manager.

The ideal engineer will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Experience working in the following engineering sectors; forklifts, plant and/or powered access
• NVQ Level 2/3 in relevant engineering
• Be well-organised, methodical and process-driven.
• Ability to think outside the box, adept at finding solutions.
• Good at managing own workload and able to cope with pressure.
• Present a professional image - be trustworthy, punctual and polite.
• Good team player.

Field Service Engineer salary and benefits:

• Salary £30,000 - £36,000 D.O.E (OTE £35,000 - £40,000+)
• Overtime at 1.5 hours
