Field Service Engineer

You’re an experienced Field Service Engineer looking to escape the ‘on call’ life, OR an apprenticed engineer eager to get out into the field. Either way, you’ll join our highly experienced team installing, servicing and repairing our market leading capital equipment. With full training, you’ll become an expert in our sector.

BASIC SALARY: Up to £35,000 (Overtime available up to £45,000)

LOCATION: Our UK office is based in Milton Keynes, but we’ll be relocating to Leicester this year. You’ll be based from home as a Field Service Engineer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias, Machinery, Capital Equipment

This is NOT your classic Field Service Engineer role. Once you’ve been through our comprehensive training, you’ll partner up with an experienced engineer to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) at our customers sites around your territory.

As our Field Service Engineer you’ll:
· Attend customer sites to carry out a range of works including breakdowns, fault finding and repairs, both electrical and mechanical
· Run diagnostics work – extending to PLC controls (we use Siemens, though any PLC experience would be a bonus)
· Modify equipment to adhere to specific customer orders
· Be the face of the company and provide excellent customer service at all times

You’ll also support the installation and commissioning process of our equipment into customers facilities, so there may be a requirement to spend the odd night away from home (with plenty of notice and fully expensed of course).

There will be times when you’ll be at our brand new purpose built headquarters in Leicester. Here you’ll be involved in everything from machine repairs and refurbishments to customer demonstrations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias, Machinery, Capital Equipment

You’ll be an electrically biased Field Service Engineer, so you’ll hold electrical qualifications, whether that’s HNC / ONC or City & Guilds level 2 / 3 or equivalent.

You could be:
· An experienced electrically biased Field Service Engineer
· A single site multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
· A recently apprenticed engineer with a mechatronics background

Whatever your current background, we’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, eager to expand their knowledge and become an expert in their field. You’ll possess good interpersonal skills and want to put these to good use with our customers.

It’ll be ideal if you have experience of PLC controls, however, this isn’t essential as we’ll train on all of our equipment and you must have a full UK driving license.
